What you absolutely have to do in Berchtesgaden in winter

Mulled wine with mountain panorama and mystical hikes through the magic forest: winter in Berchtesgaden is particularly magical. Our highlights come here.

We don't know how you are doing, but alone when I thinkWinter in BerchtesgadenLet us notice how our pulse slows down and breathing suddenly becomes calmer. Hardly any region in Germany lets us come to rest as this. We'll tell you here what you shouldn't miss for a maximum relaxing winter break.

Really cool:Even the journey is super relaxed. From Vienna it goes to Winterwonderland in just three hours. Simply jump into the train to Salzburg and conveniently jet from there with the Watzmann Expressbus to Berchtesgaden.

Enjoy the stade time

DieAdvent time in Berchtesgadenis contemplative and quiet. Or Staad, as the locals lovingly describe them. As far as the eye can see, you can see a lot of craftsmanship, an all -round atmospheric atmosphere and a lot of lived customs in the run -up to Christmas. That is why the Klöcklsinger, who move from house to house, have also become an integral part of the Christmas shooters with their firecrackers and the bells swinging buttnmandl from the Berchtesgaden Advent.

Also great (and strange): thatOaschpfeifirössl(Bavarian for ass pipe horse). And yes, the name is the program. The traditional Christmas tree decoration is a small wooden horse, to the rear of which a pipe is attached. Big souvenir recommendation!
